This is a story about a Firefighter trapped in Antarctica. Working in Antarctica
puts you in a rather unique position because you are literally trapped on the
ice. You can’t just simply quit your job, hop in your car and drive home.
Instead it is more of a logistic nightmare if you want to leave early. Part of
my job as a Firefighter was to sit next to the runways in a fire truck when the
planes from New Zealand were either taking off or landing. I kept threatening
the Chief of the Fire Department that one day I was going to make a break for
one of the planes and thus the creation of this film was born. Filmed entirely
on location at McMurdo in Antarctica. An interesting note on this film is the
fact it was filmed with a small digital camera that only did 30 second video
clips at a time.
